Ed Markey, Democrat
Congressman Markey has been advocating for the LGBT community for over 30 years. In 1996 he was one of the few members of Congress who voted against the Defense of Marriage Act. He is has co-sponsored many bills, including anti-bullying measures to transgender-inclusive employment protections to support for bi-national same-sex couples.
Dan Winslow, Republican
State Senator Winslow is a traditional Massachusetts Republican. He was the sole Republican vote in the Massachusetts State Senate supporting Transgender rights, he supports marriage equality, and filed a request the Federal Election Commission requesting that contributions from gay married couples be treated the same way the commission treats contributions from married straight couples.

Linda Dorcena Forry (D)
State Representative Dorcena Forry has been a longtime champion of LGBT issues and causes, including support of marriage equality and transgender rights. She, along with challenger Maureen Dahill, were the only candidates to demand that the organizers of the South Boston St. Patrick’s Day Parade allow LGBT groups to march.
