Linda Lowell, of Chelmsford, died Monday, June 10, 2013 at Lowell General Hospital following a brief illness. Lowell was a popular and award winning DJ over the past three decades—appearing at the annual Pride Esme Block Party, Dyke Night, and in earlier years Friend’s Landing and Indigo.
She was scheduled to spin at last Saturday’s Esme Block Party but cancelled due to illness. Harry Collings, producer of the event, said, “Linda was a wonderful full-of-life person who pleased the block party audience for many years. We are saddened by her death. She will be missed.”
Prior to her illness, Linda was employed for many years as the Chief Quality Officer by Spotlight Risk Services in Lowell. She was also a Town Meeting Representative for the Town of Chelmsford.
She is survived by her companion Caroline Lynch and her daughter Alexandria H. Linehan both of Chelmsford. Visitation will be held at the Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen Street, Chelmsford on Thursday from 3 until 7 p.m. Linda's Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11 o'clock at St. Mary Church, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Linda's memory to the charity of one's choice .
